Overall, the turnout across the 93 constituencies in the last election had been relatively better at 70%, a statistic the Election Commission hopes to improve on. “People in the urban areas should acknowledge the power of their votes and shed their indifference towards elections,” state chief electoral officer P Bharathi said.
